Third person

This piece visualises the process of dissociating so frequently that the boundaries between reality and dreams begin to blur. Even when present in a moment, the experience is no longer perceived directly, but rather through the distance of the mind, as if observing oneself from a third-person perspective.

This experience is especially relevant in relation to women, who have often been socialised to view themselves through the gaze of others. As Margaret Atwood writes: “You are a woman with a man inside watching a woman. You are your own voyeur.”
